Job Summary

Gruma Corporation is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our production department in Pueblo, Colorado. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and controlling the overall operation of our production lines, ensuring that all processing activities meet product specifications and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise a team of up to 35 employees, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful operation of production lines.
  • Ensure that all production parameters are within the planned budget and that labor hours and payroll reports are accurate.
  • Verify and control production activities to ensure compliance with product specifications and GMPs.
  • Serve as a liaison between Department Managers and Hourly Employees, resolving conflicts and addressing employee concerns.
  • Schedule work assignments, vacations, and days off for Hourly Employees, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Responsible for assessing employee needs and providing training, documenting training records.
  • Conduct monthly safety and quality sessions, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Resolve team conflicts and issues, documenting disciplinary actions and recognition.
  • Set specific and measurable goals for the department's continuous improvement, following and directing company regulations.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all safety policies and regulations are enforced, responsible for safety training and enforcement of safety rules/policies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3 years of production experience in a manufacturing plant required; Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or 4 years as a Lead in production required.
  • Experience in manufacturing supervisory role with a proven track record in leading manufacturing teams.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors).
  • Experience with Quality Systems and Programs, familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices, LEAN Manufacturing, 5's, World Class Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.
  • A multicultural approach to operating in a diverse business environment.
  • Comfortable communicating and operating within an internationally matrixed environment.
  • Able to perform simple analysis, SAP & Kronos knowledge preferred.
  • Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Be able to lift to 50lbs.
Benefits
  • Salary: $63,800-82,900 a year plus $3,000 Target Bonus.
