Job Summary

Nordic Ware is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Injection Molding Set-up Technician to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting various machines, including spinning lathes, injection molding, and compression molding equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate all programmable and template spinning lathes, injection molding, and compression molding machines and related equipment.
  • Process Improvement: Make machine adjustments or process improvements to improve part quality and machine optimization.
  • Shift Transition: Assist with shift transition by communicating with the 1st Shift Set-Up Technician.
  • Material Handling: Shrink wrap, tape, and weigh boxes and materials as needed.
  • Quality Control: Sample material, molds, punches, and dies.
  • Training and Development: Train other set-up techs, assistants, and operators.
  • Productivity Monitoring: Monitor productivity by tracking downtime and cycle rates.
  • Documentation: Create schedules, machine utilization plans, process documents, and set up procedures.
  • Data Entry: Make data entries including bar coding, material moving, shipping, and receiving.
  • Warehouse Operations: Load and unload trucks and properly locate raw materials.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with support departments to address maintenance or tooling concerns.
  • Process Improvement: Make suggestions for process or department improvements.
  • Organization: Organize cabinets, mold and spinning storage areas, and documentation in a neat and orderly fashion.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude.
  • Attendance and Punctuality: Must maintain a reliable record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Initiative and Motivation: Show initiative, motivation, and be able to multi-task without direction.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Determination: Possess a strong sense of determination.
  • Experience: 1+ Year experience in either spinning, injection molding, or compression molding preferred.
