Job Summary:

A Medical Instrument Specialist at UCHealth is responsible for preparing the operating room with necessary instruments and supplies. This role demands critical thinking and effective communication skills to operate efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Ensure good working order of equipment and instruments; assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients
  • Pass instruments to physician during surgery; account for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery
  • Receive and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED or Military trained
  • State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
  • 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date

Estimated Salary: $25.80 - $38.70 per hour, dependent on relevant experience. Estimated annual salary: $53,617 - $80,387.
