Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of environmental policies and practices at designated facilities to ensure complete regulatory adherence.
  • Facilitate environmental auditing processes and guarantee effective implementation of audit findings.
  • Assess operations and propose strategies to minimize waste, pollution, and contamination.
  • Serve as an internal consultant regarding environmental compliance and assist in obtaining necessary environmental, land use, and development permits.
  • Manage communication and negotiations with regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate and ensure comprehensive environmental monitoring and recordkeeping at each assigned location.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations and monitor any changes.
  • Engage with community members regarding the environmental aspects of operations and the social license to operate.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with site and area operations managers to ensure ongoing dialogue and support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mining Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in environmental compliance within the building materials industry is preferred.
  • Resourceful and capable of efficiently researching topics and providing informed responses.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with senior business and community officials.
  • Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in developing solutions within a team setting.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
