Job Summary:

The Middlesex Corporation is a leading heavy civil construction company seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of complex multimillion-dollar projects from pre-construction to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of project management plans, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Participate in the creation and execution of project quality control and quality assurance plans.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Track and verify project production, cost coding, and quantity measurements.
  • Prepare and submit accurate project cost reports, revenue, and cash flow projections.
  • Participate in project close-out, including documentation, punch list management, and system turnover.
  • Assist in the interpretation and dissemination of project documents, including drawings, specifications, and other relevant information.
  • Perform quantity calculations and measurements.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of Job Hazard Analysis, Construction Work Plans, and work packages.
  • Assist in field surveying and project layout.
  • Track and verify accuracy of project productions, cost coding, and quantity measurements.
  • Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's).
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training.
  • Order and schedule material deliveries.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations.
  • Participate in CPM schedule maintenance and updates.
  • Assist in the maintenance of project recordkeeping and correspondence functions.
  • Participate in project daily data entry and review cost reports with jobsite management.
  • Assist in identifying and documenting change orders and as-built data.
  • Provide overall support to project field operations.

Requirements:

  • Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
  • Preferred 2+ years' construction field experience on heavy civil or infrastructure-related projects.
  • Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, BlueBeam.
  • Preferred experience utilizing HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, P6.
  • Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
