We are currently in search of a Senior Correctional Officer, Inmate Relations who is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care within a secure, institutional environment.

The Senior Correctional Officer, Inmate Relations serves as a uniformed, security-trained member of the Unit Management Team, tasked with addressing daily inmate concerns before they escalate into significant issues, incidents, or grievances. This role ensures that services and programs are effectively administered to inmates assigned to the unit in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Accountable for a designated group of inmates, primarily focused on resolving daily living challenges before they develop into serious incidents.
  • Conduct regular rounds through assigned units, engaging with both staff and inmates, observing operations and interactions to maintain a safe and secure environment while anticipating potential situations.
  • Facilitate one-on-one discussions with inmates regarding grievances or potential grievances, aiming to resolve issues within the established policy framework.
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with inmates to support the informal resolution of issues.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of security experience in the criminal justice sector, ideally including one year in a supervisory role.
  • Additional educational qualifications may be considered in lieu of experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Minimum age requirement: Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
