Key Responsibilities
  • Implement specialty public health programs focused on decreasing the incidence and spread of vaccine-preventable diseases.

  • Administer immunizations and prescribed treatments according to standing orders or individual physician's orders.
  • Participate in prevention and control of communicable diseases.
  • Perform clinical nursing duties in immunization administration and tuberculosis testing.
  • Identify and network with community resources to address client needs.
  • Participate in orientation and clinical supervision of nurse aides and student nurses.
  • Prepare and maintain individual patient records and program reports.
Requirements
  • Valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact site.
  • 2 or more years of experience for Community Health Nurse II position.
  • CPR certification.
  • Fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
  • Az driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of immunizations and their effectiveness in creating community immunity and promoting wellness.
  • Previous experience working in a clinic setting as a medical professional.
  • Previous experience/knowledge of the Vaccines for Children state immunization program.
  • Experience working with the Arizona State Immunization Information System database.
  • Bilingual.
Working Conditions

This position is safety sensitive and non-exempt from overtime.
