Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Advanced Facilities Group. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge construction projects, collaborating with innovative clients to deliver high-performing teams focused on advancing the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complex Project Activities: Complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities, including collecting and assembling data, developing estimates, and generating systems and bid analysis.
  • Estimation and Analysis: Develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information, review mechanical and electrical options, complete systems analysis, recommend best systems for projects, and provide value engineering suggestions.
  • Scheduling and Quality Control: Coordinate mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process, develop sequencing requirements of various systems, and provide solutions to meet schedule requirements.
  • Commissioning and Shop Drawings: Develop pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and actual functional testing, verify contractor performance, review and approve shop drawings, and generate commissioning plans for approval.
  • Mentoring and Process Improvement: Provide mentoring to less experienced colleagues, create innovative tools and solutions to improve processes and work products, and lead, support, and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform work accurately and completely, proficient in MS Office, ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications, and knowledge of means and methods of construction management.

Compensation
