Banquet Server

Job Summary:

The Banquet Server is a key member of the Graduate Providence team, responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to our guests at all banquet functions. As a Banquet Server, you will be the face of our hotel, ensuring that every guest interaction is friendly, courteous, and professional.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Read and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu for assigned functions.
  • Serve guests according to hotel standards, providing a personalized and attentive experience.
  • Respond to guest concerns, complaints, and accidents, communicating with management as needed.
  • Set tables according to hotel standards, maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere.
  • Maintain the banquet storeroom, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Clean-up banquet space after functions, storing equipment and supplies properly.
  • Prepare rooms according to BEO and meal functions, adhering to food safety guidelines.
  • Follow money handling procedures, ensuring accurate transactions.
  • Know menu items and provide accurate descriptions to guests.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction, exceeding expectations whenever possible.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with experience in hotel or related field preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including long shifts.
  • Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
