Banquet Captain - Event Supervisor/Bartender/Server

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at the Club at Seabrook Island, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of our Club banquets and special events, ensuring exceptional customer service and a seamless experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of Banquet Servers and Bartenders to ensure excellent service and high-quality food and beverage presentation.
  • Implement tasks and instructions given by the Banquet Manager to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Set up and manage staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing downtime.
  • Manage the setup and execution of events, including coordinating with culinary and service staff.
  • Oversee the closing responsibilities after events, ensuring all areas are clean and tidy.
  • Run the floor, coordinating food and drink service, and liaising with the culinary and service staff.
  • Welcome guests upon arrival, assist with seating arrangements, and tend to their requests, questions, and complaints.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment, and furniture, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Ensure the venue and facilities remain neat and clean, adhering to safety regulations and standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager, promoting the Club's mission and adhering to Core Values and standards.

Requirements:

  • Two years of previous experience as a Banquet Captain or Supervisor or a similar position.
  • Excellent leadership abilities, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service, even in stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects in excess of 30lbs.
  • Confident and safe driving skills in a full-size passenger van.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of bartending experience in an upscale environment.
  • Computer literacy and fundamental computer point-of-sales skills.
  • Excellent people skills, even under stressful, fast-paced work situations.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work quickly, efficiently, and neatly while focusing on providing superior customer service.

Working Conditions:

The Banquet Captain will work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure exceptional customer service. The position requires moderate strength and physical fitness, as well as the ability to remain on feet for extended periods and work in extreme temperatures during long shifts.
