About the Role

The Municipal Operations Director is a critical position at Brilar, responsible for overseeing the overall production planning, efficiency, and quality of field operations within the Municipal division. This role requires a strong leader who can develop, instruct, and enforce efficient production plans for field operations teams, while also ensuring the readiness, care, appearance, and safe operation of all assets within the division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short- and long-range strategic plans that align with the company's overall strategic plan, in conjunction with the Branch Manager.
  • Operations Management: Lead effective snow operation plans that maximize staffing and assets while minimizing unnecessary expenses.
  • Team Management: Recruit, hire, and onboard new employees, as well as develop and conduct training programs to improve operational efficiency, compliance, and safety.
  • Asset Management: Work with the in-house mechanic and outsourcing partners to ensure the overall care, condition, and maintenance of all assets assigned to the Municipal division.
  • Communication: Establish and promote positive relationships with local vendors, service partners, local and state agencies, and the general public.
  • Documentation: Accurately submit all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Incident Management: Manage all incidents and injuries within the Municipal division.
  • Professional Development: Stay well-informed of changes and advances in the world of commercial landscape maintenance and snow management.
Requirements
  • Alignment with Company Values: Aligns well with Brilar's core values, vision, and mission.
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of high school diploma and 3 years of management-level knowledge and experience within the commercial lawn maintenance and snow removal industry.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proven extensive knowledge of operations, production management, and fleet management; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; self-motivated, well-organized, and strong time management skills; positive and friendly attitude; professional phone, meeting, and event etiquette; ability to work as a team and take direction from multiple sources; self-starter with minimal direct supervision; ability to work in a variety of weather conditions; required to be on call 24/7 during the winter season; time flexible without schedule restrictions; physically able to operate power equipment; able to lift 50+ lbs., bend, walk repeatedly for a continuous period.
