Job Summary

Gastro Care Partners is seeking a highly skilled Procedure Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling routine patient procedures and complicated surgeries, ensuring seamless execution and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and procedures in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with scheduling policies and practices.
  • Communicate procedure information and patient instructions effectively to patients and/or family members, including financial obligations.
  • Collaborate with providers/physicians to ensure scheduling and educational materials are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Send physician orders for procedures to endoscopy and surgery centers as required.
  • Schedule surgeries/procedures within established surgical block times with affiliated hospitals, as requested by physicians.
  • Ensure schedules are on time and accurate, communicating with support staff when there are delays or cancellations/issues.
  • Monitor physician requests throughout the day and refer scheduling issues to the appropriate decision-maker.
  • Comply with organizational and HIPAA policies and regulations to ensure patient care is kept confidential.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience scheduling surgeries/procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT Coding and working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or other scheduling software.
