Job Overview
The George Washington University is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join its procurement team. As a key member of the Procure-To-Pay Department, you will be responsible for acquiring goods and services that meet the needs of the university while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, negotiation, and analytical skills. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds to identify procurement opportunities and develop effective solutions. Your expertise in federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and ability to apply written rules, policies, and procedures will be essential in this role.

The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in managing all aspects of the functional area of contract management, including contract formation, drafting and issuing solicitations, negotiations, cost and price analysis, award, contract administration, termination, and close-out of various contract vehicles.

Salary Range
$57,553.66 - $79,165.63 per year

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the functional area of contract management
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors
  • Conduct cost and price analysis
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
