Job Overview

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the bar, overseeing staff, maintaining quality, and optimizing efficiency. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Operations:
    • Set clear goals for the bar and its staff.
    • Recruit, train, and supervise staff to meet these goals.
    • Ensure high-quality service and maintain a clean and safe environment.
    • Manage staff schedules and handle any conflicts or issues that may arise.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensure that drinks are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
    • Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Financial & Inventory Management:
    • Manage cash handling and maintain accurate records.
    • Monitor and order supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
    • Ensure proper stock rotation and maintain a clean and organized inventory system.
    • Manage the bar budget and control costs to maximize profitability.
  • Sales & Promotions:
    • Develop strategies to increase sales and revenue.
    • Organize promotional activities to drive customer engagement and loyalty.
    • Prepare financial reports to track sales and revenue.
  • Compliance:
    • Stay up-to-date on all laws and regulations related to alcohol and tobacco sales.
    • Ensure that all operations comply with these laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience managing a bar or beverage service.
  • Valid TAPS card and Alaska Food Handlers card.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic business management skills.
  • Accounting and cost control knowledge.
  • Human resources experience.
  • Computer skills.
Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in the US.
