SUMMARY


The Alameda Health System seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse II to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to a positive patient experience.


DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  1. Accompaniment, assistance, and representation of patients to other healthcare providers.
  2. Provision of care with respect to medication administration, skin and wound care, and other essential patient care activities.
  3. Development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of the nursing care plan, as well as preparation of required records and reports.
  4. Gathering and assessing information about patients to meet their nursing needs, consulting with physicians in the performance of procedures and diagnostic tests, and contacting physicians and/or other departments to obtain or provide patient information.
  5. Providing oversight to staff who monitor telemetry systems, alerting the primary nurse of changes in underlying rhythms and life-threatening arrhythmias, interpreting and posting telemetry strips, admitting and discharging patients with telemetry units as necessary.
  6. Organizing, supervising, and accepting responsibility for the quality of care provided to patients by coworkers for a given work period, assuming responsibility as a team leader or charge nurse when assigned.
  7. Participating in creating a healthful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families, setting up and controlling the environment essential for infection control.
  8. Participating in implementing patient care standards, infection control standards, and quality assurance criteria, assisting with conducting studies, and participating in unit and other meetings.
  9. Providing and evaluating patient care according to established standards and criteria, monitoring patients for significant and critical changes, initiating procedures as required, documenting care given according to set standards, and explaining procedures, regimens, and services to patients and families.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
  • Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification, and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Certification (preferred).
