Job Summary

Bloodworks is seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Transfusion Service team, you will be responsible for coordinating the validation and maintenance of equipment and instruments used in our laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all equipment and instruments are properly maintained and calibrated
  • Coordinate the repair and calibration of equipment and instruments
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to the team
  • Support departmental projects and participate in interdepartmental projects

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent
  • MT(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) certification preferred
  • Two years of relevant supervisory and/or team leadership experience
  • Two years of relevant experience in Transfusion Laboratory Medicine

Working Conditions

This is a highly regulated position and requires meeting various regulatory agency and accrediting body rules and regulations. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.
