SIL Engineering Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled SIL Engineering Technician to join our team at Butler America Aerospace, LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for fabricating interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings, performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of test bench and lab infrastructure equipment, and ensuring compliance with aircraft standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings.
  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of test bench and lab infrastructure equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with aircraft standards for crimping and assembling connector contacts and cable assemblies.
  • Read and understand aircraft level wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings for metal fabrication and assemblies.
  • Use test equipment, troubleshoot, and repair wiring, and isolation.
  • Experience wiring serial data interfaces, including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, and IEEE-488.
  • Install fiberoptic cabling for reflective memory hardware.
  • Use hand tools and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Physical strength to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined areas for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with ESD and FOD practices.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • High School diploma.
  • Industry experience: Technical 5 years minimum.
  • Military experience in related aircraft/systems maintenance and support is a plus.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
