Position Overview

**This position is Full Time, requiring 36 hours per week at the Immediate Care Center. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts from 7:45 AM to 8:15 PM, including weekend and holiday coverage. Flexibility to work at various clinics may be necessary.**

Role Responsibilities

The Patient Service Representative embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adhering to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program while complying with all relevant policies and regulatory standards.

The representative will assist in managing patient appointments, ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the process.

  • Greet patients and guests upon arrival, confirming their identity and providing essential information regarding their visit.
  • Perform check-in and check-out tasks as instructed.
  • Verify and update patient identification and demographic/insurance details.
  • Facilitate patient registration as required.
  • Gather necessary patient consents and authorizations.
  • Collect co-payments, outstanding balances, and point-of-service payments.
  • Process payments, manage billing information, and conduct end-of-day cash drawer reconciliations.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming waiting area.
  • Communicate any delays or changes in appointment status to patients.
  • Schedule appointments as needed.
  • For representatives in Immediate Care Clinics, flexibility to assist in other departments may be required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in a customer service role.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Bilingual capabilities.
