Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Program Operations Manager to oversee a team of professionals in our Virginia Beach and Hampton facilities. This position is responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing policy implementation, quality control, and regional contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client agency
  • Oversee the organizational management and direct supervision of the Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations staff
  • Review applicant resumes, conduct interviews, and recommend for hire/advancement
  • Perform administrative functions, including invoice processing, shift scheduling, and personnel performance reviews
  • Develop and maintain routine personnel performance assessments
  • Coordinate with client on citizen issues related to complaints, inquiries, and public information requests
  • Share responsibilities with the client for TMC public relations activities
  • Routinely report to client and company stakeholders on operations efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist in maintaining sound freeway operations by guiding control room operation decisions and developing special event response plans
  • Responsible for the comprehensive training and auditing of the operations staff
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and committees as assigned by the client
  • Write and maintain technical documents, including the TMC Operations Manual/Standard Operations Procedures and training programs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related transportation field, plus 10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of leadership
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review
  • Ability and willingness to work alternate work schedules and be on-call 24 hours/day
