Position Overview

Role Purpose

The objective of this position is to engage in the daily operations of the investment banking sector. Acquire extensive exposure to various client types, transactions, and specialized areas of focus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on active transactions, client presentations, and assist the team in providing advice to a diverse range of corporate clients, delivering comprehensive, structured solutions to meet client objectives.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to facilitate business initiatives.
  • Engage in training and development programs to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
  • Identify potential opportunities, develop business cases, and manage the rollout and introduction of new products and services within investment banking.
  • Oversee client relationships and deliver customer service support to clients and customers, with gradually decreasing supervision, addressing inquiries regarding products and services, and processing transactions.
  • Formulate and implement financial models and strategies that aid in decision-making within investment banking. Gain insights into business operations and learn from industry experts.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members.
Expectations for Assistant Vice President
  • Advise on complex matters; offering guidance to People Leaders to assist in resolving escalated issues.
  • Identify risk mitigation strategies and develop new policies/procedures to support control and governance objectives.
  • Assume responsibility for managing risk and enhancing controls related to the tasks performed.
  • Conduct work that is closely aligned with other areas, necessitating an understanding of how these areas coordinate and contribute to the organization's sub-function objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to stay informed about business activities and strategic direction.
  • Engage in intricate analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources, including procedures and practices from various teams and companies, to creatively and effectively solve problems.
  • Communicate complex information clearly. 'Complex' information may include sensitive data or content that is challenging to convey due to its nature or audience.
  • Influence or persuade stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

As a Banking Associate, you will collaborate with various Investment Banking teams. Here, you will address our clients' most strategic inquiries. By advising a wide array of corporate clients, you will deliver comprehensive, structured solutions that assist our clients in achieving their objectives, whether through mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, structured solutions, or risk management.

Following several weeks of intensive training, you will join one of our industry, product, or geographic groups and immediately begin working on live transactions and business development projects. Within small deal teams, you will quickly assume a significant role in a variety of challenging assignments. Your tasks may include:

• Financial analysis and modeling

• Valuation

• Industry research

• Business evaluation and strategic assessment

• Business and idea generation

• Communication with external and internal stakeholders.
