Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Trackhoe Operator/Excavator to join our team at Crisdel Group, Inc. This is a challenging role that requires the ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate trackhoes and excavators to excavate trenches for underground pipes
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and ensure it is in good working condition
  • Work with ground personnel to install pipes and ensure they are properly graded
  • Ensure trenches are excavated to the correct depth and grade
  • Responsible for placing water, storm, and sanitary sewer pipes in the excavation
  • Follow directions from ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement, and grading
  • Cut grade with minimal time spent on excavating to ensure production is on schedule
  • Conduct trench work that meets OH&S requirements
  • Operate equipment on public roadways while maintaining awareness of surroundings
  • Ensure a sound understanding of ground disturbance issues
  • Be aware of proper rigging of pipe, manhole barrels, etc. and ensure safe work procedures are followed
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of equipment
  • Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of equipment
  • Operate other heavy equipment and perform construction-related duties as required
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Prior experience working with underground pipe is required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in the road construction industry
  • 2 to 3 years' experience operating a trackhoe/excavator is required
  • Knowledge of road construction materials, processes, and industry requirements
  • Understanding of computerized controls and electronics

  • Valid driver's license issued within the United States clear of multiple and/or major violations
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen and motor vehicle records check; a criminal background check will also be conducted
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
Working Conditions
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended
