About the Role

At Blue Origin, we are pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion.

This position is a key part of our mission, supporting the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rocket Fluid Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of fluid systems for rockets. As a member of our team, you will engage in all levels of the design cycle, including conceptual design, requirements definition, thermo-fluid modeling, structural layout and analysis, integration, test and mission support.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated fluid subsystems.
  • Perform trade studies to optimize GS2 Fluids system Design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of fluid systems with other vehicle subsystems.
  • Author component specifications and handle suppliers through design, development, qualification, and delivery of flight hardware.
  • Lead and participate in component and system level testing and data analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system component design or test.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
  • Experience with fluid components (i.e., solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, regulators, pumps, instrumentation, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with rocket fluids systems.
  • Solid understanding of cryogenic material properties and testing.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems.
Salary Range

$111,690.00-$156,366.00 per year.
