Position Summary: The Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a critical role in applying and advancing sophisticated technical methodologies, scientific principles, and theoretical concepts. This position requires extensive knowledge in Modeling and Simulation Applications and Architectures. As a contractor representative, the SME will articulate technical capabilities and future directions, integrating complex concepts and data from various fields to devise innovative solutions to challenging problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize professional expertise to develop strategies for addressing highly complex challenges and stringent requirements in Systems Engineering and Modeling and Simulation Architecture.
  • Engage in problem-solving that influences design success and informs future product or technology developments.
  • Independently determine methodologies and procedures for new assignments while overseeing the activities of junior personnel.
  • Conduct thorough research on system missions and expected performance metrics to formulate test scopes that encompass critical operational issues, objectives, and effectiveness measures.
  • Identify and implement viable and operationally realistic Modeling and Simulation Analysis (MS&A) testing methods to mitigate uncertainties in opportunity concepts.
  • Design a testing approach that ensures adequate data sampling for comprehensive statistical analysis.
  • Plan and execute MS&A activities to validate data collection and analysis methodologies.
  • Create essential documentation, including test plans, execution procedures, data analysis strategies, evaluation reports, and necessary briefings.
  • Oversee data collection efforts and ensure all analysis and evaluation objectives are met.
  • Assess system performance using collected evaluation data and validated truth data, employing developed methodologies and tools.
  • Prepare deficiency reports for identified issues that hinder system performance or suggest enhancements for future upgrades.
  • Draft technical reports that accurately reflect results and challenges encountered during MS&A activities.
  • Present MS&A evaluation findings and recommendations for review, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Support fellow analysts by reviewing and providing constructive feedback on planning documents, technical reports, and final briefings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant technical experience in MS&A design, analysis, and scenario support.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience with modeling and simulation applications and architectures.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MS&A applications and architectures.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of USAF and USSF test and evaluation directives.
  • Proficiency in using data reduction tools for raw data analysis.
  • Understanding of common system effectiveness and suitability factors.
  • Background in Developmental or Operational Testing.
