Overview: We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Summer Risk Analyst to contribute to our risk management initiatives during a summer internship. This position offers a valuable opportunity to acquire hands-on experience in the field of risk management, aiding the risk team in recognizing, evaluating, and alleviating various risk factors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in pinpointing and examining potential risks across diverse business domains, encompassing financial, operational, and market risks.
- Support the creation and execution of risk assessment frameworks and methodologies.
- Perform both quantitative and qualitative risk evaluations, including data gathering, trend analysis, and risk modeling.
- Compile and present reports on risk evaluations, highlighting findings, recommendations, and strategies for mitigation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to collect and analyze data pertinent to risk exposure, controls, and incidents.
- Help monitor and assess the effectiveness of risk management strategies and controls.
- Engage in risk management discussions, providing updates, insights, and assistance for risk-related topics.
- Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging risk trends to bolster risk management efforts.
- Assist with ad-hoc risk analysis tasks and projects as required, including data preparation and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Basic knowledge of risk management principles, risk assessment techniques, and financial analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools; familiarity with risk management software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for interpreting data and evaluating risk factors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating risk findings and recommendations effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in risk analysis and reporting.
- Willingness to learn and apply risk management practices in a practical environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
