Security Governance Risk and Compliance Program Manager Intern

The Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team at Confluent is responsible for maintaining security standards and regulatory compliance through external audits, managing risk registers, generating risk reporting to senior management, and building security policies & standards.
As a GRC Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced security risk & compliance professionals, gain valuable hands-on experience, and contribute to critical security initiatives that demonstrate Confluent's commitment to security & compliance.
Responsibilities:
Work with GRC team members to understand our audit management lifecycle
Gain knowledge and experience on various security industry standards
Assess and report on third-party risks
Understand how to measure a successful security program through KPIs and KRIs
Maintain security registers and report on top risks to senior leadership
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field with a graduation date between August 2025 - December 2026
A curious mindset and genuine passion for cybersecurity, especially in cloud environments
Familiarity with standards like ISO, SOC, PCI, NIST CSF is a plus
Basic understanding of security concepts, networking, and protocols
Exceptional problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies
A positive attitude and a strong desire to contribute to the team's success
