The Loan Operations Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of loan servicing operations at Field & Main Bank. This position requires a strong leader who can direct and manage the daily performance of the team, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Loan Operations Manager in training and developing the team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Evaluate current business processes and implement improvements to enhance communication, customer service, and operational effectiveness.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and act as a liaison to the Compliance Department for audit and compliance issues.
- Provide back-up support for all tasks performed by the team and verify loans boarded to the core system.
- Process bought and sold participation payments and advances, and maintain a working knowledge of government regulatory requirements affecting consumer and commercial customers.
- Assist in the timely preparation of reports, including SBA, Federal Reserve, and eOSCAR reports, and respond to eOSCAR disputes.
- Process non-accrual, charge-off, and OREO status loans, and provide required reports to officers, processors, compliance, and other bank personnel.
- Complete training as required on BSA and other Compliance policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of direct loan servicing/operations experience, with at least one year of leadership experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and experience with Jack Henry core system a plus.
- Strong focus on job tasks, diligence, organizational skills, and a self-starter mentality.
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high-pressure environment and maintain professionalism.
- Ability to think critically and provide solutions to problems.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills: Strong working knowledge of computer functions, proficient in keyboarding and Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new technical skills.
- Initiative: Takes proactive steps to accomplish tasks without specific direction, seeks out and takes responsibility for additional work assessments, and seeks out new learning opportunities.
- Follow-up: Completes assignments and tasks willingly, promptly, and efficiently, responds with a sense of urgency to requests, and keeps supervisor informed of status of completed tasks.
- Communication skills: Relates positively and professionally to customers, staff, co-workers, and supervisors, maintains confidentiality in all bank, employee, and customer-related matters, and consistently keeps department and supervisor informed.
- Interpersonal relationship skills: Works with co-workers conveying thoughts, actions, and feedback in a positive manner, builds and manages professionally healthy relationships, and supports, accepts, and understands management and company directives.
- Time-management: Ability to consistently display a sense of urgency in completing tasks and servicing customers' needs, maintains accuracy and quality of work as quantity of work fluctuates, and organizes and prioritizes workflow effectively to optimize productivity.
- Adherence to policies and procedures: Understands the importance of adherence to department procedures and bank policies in job-related functions, employee, and banking issues, maintains confidentiality of employee, customer, and bank information, and actions and behaviors reflect positively on the company.
