Kettering Health is a leading healthcare provider in southwest Ohio, committed to delivering high-quality care to patients at every stage of life. As a Surgical Technician - Operating Room Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our surgical teams in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in direct patient care during surgical interventions, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of care.
  • Prepare and maintain a clean, safe environment in the operating room, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to ensure seamless patient procedures, from preoperative to postoperative care.
  • Participate in preceptor activities, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance team performance.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical procedures, and specialized equipment used in the OR.
  • Assist with patient transport and other patient care duties in the OR, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Surgical Technology from a NBSTA-accredited program or certification from NCCT.
  • Four years of experience as a surgical technologist with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years of applicable on-the-job or military surgical technology training with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist required within one year of hire, if hired without certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Surgical Technology skills required, preferably in a hospital operating room environment.
  • Experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
  • Ability to work on call with a 30-minute response time.
