Job Summary

The Lawrenceville School is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst and Budget Manager to join our Finance department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and budget managers in the preparation, monitoring, and management of the School's operating and capital budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budget Development and Management: Assist in the development of the School's operating and capital budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide financial analysis and reporting to support budget managers in their review and projection of spending against budget.
  • Forecasting and Modeling: Maintain a multi-year forecasting model to ensure accurate financial projections and identify areas for cost savings.
  • Financial Efficiency and Compliance: Make recommendations to improve fiscal efficiency based on interpretation of financial information and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • General Ledger Reconciliation: Review and reconcile various general ledger accounts, including bank and petty cash accounts, to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Purchase Card Program Administration: Administer the Purchase Card Program, including automating approvals and receipts, to ensure efficient and compliant use of company funds.
  • Journal Entry Processing: Record journal entries for gift transmittals, securities sold, and other financial transactions to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Financial Data Management: Upload monthly entries for P Card activity, dining transfers, and miscellaneous adjustments to ensure accurate financial data.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Three to five years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities, preferably in a financial management role.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with advanced Excel skills and the ability to understand spreadsheets, budgets, and financial analyses.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with financial management software, such as Financial Edge NXT or similar ERP, and the ability to learn and leverage new technology.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment, and maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to privacy.
