The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the finance team responsible for preparing complex monthly analyses of accounts receivable, contractual adjustments, and bad debt write-offs for the hospital. This position is responsible for the daily balancing of the hospital’s financial systems. Individuals in this role exercise judgment and discretion in preparing specialized financial analyses for accounting director and LMH management on an “as needed” basis and possess the leadership qualities needed to fill in for the department director if required.

Responsibilities

a. Responsible for downloading monthly revenue and accounts receivable reports for detailed analysis and calculation of contractual allowances.
b. Prepares bi-weekly FTE and productivity reports and monthly financial reports for distribution to the LMH leadership team using HBI technology.
c. Performs daily GL reconciliation and provides daily accounts receivable posting information to finance department leadership members and administration. Maintains the interface table from STAR to the general ledger.
d. Assists in monthly financial statement analysis.
e. Prepares key reconciliation schedules for the annual audit of the financial statements.
f. Performs in-depth financial and payroll data analysis for performance improvement activities throughout the hospital.
g. Coordinates the annual worker’s compensation audit.
h. Performs the duties for the Decision Support Manager as needed to cover position absences.
i. Demonstrates excellent computer skills including a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.) and general accounting software and have strong typing/data entry skills.
j. Possess the ability to interact and respond professionally to complaints and inquiries from coworkers, management and customers. Assists in training hospital leaders in the effective use of financial reports.
k. Displays effective time management, organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
l. Ability to analyze problems, to compile data, to determine facts and reach a logical conclusion.
m. Ability to comprehend and enforce policies and procedures.
n. Maintains attention to detail, accuracy with numbers and efficiency in completing multiple tasks.
o.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting. CPA, MBA, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years previous experience.

Preferred:

Healthcare finance experience.
