As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for performing advanced-level accounting duties and tasks, including the month-end closing process for the hospital and its affiliated entities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Support and maintain department goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the hospital's mission and vision.
  • Adhere to and promote a strong internal control environment, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Meet deadlines, including tight monthly financial statements, close deadlines, and audit deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with co-workers, other departments of the hospital, and vendors to further the hospital's mission and objectives.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and/or supporting schedules for general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ownership of designated G/L accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and models for management, including variance reporting of the annual operating budget.
  • Federal, State, and private grant accounting and management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist in the review of the general ledger month-end close and presentation of the balance sheet and income statement results.
  • Assist in the accounting and financial reporting of the hospital's affiliated entities.
  • Assist in the preparation or review of various quarterly and annual tax returns.
  • Provide documentation to management and/or auditors to support transactions.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or related field with 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with good knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong Microsoft Word skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Healthcare industry accounting experience.
  • Grant accounting experience.
