Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Pharmacy Specialist delivers patient-focused pharmaceutical care services to individuals at Baptist Health Floyd.

This role involves collaborating with healthcare providers to offer guidance on medication management and safety within clinical settings; contributing to the ongoing education of Pharmacy, Patient Care Services, Medical Staff, Residents, Support Staff, and Students.

The Specialist ensures the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care services, emphasizing quality improvement measures, oversees the daily functions of support staff, and advocates for efficient medication use and superior patient care.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Possession of a valid Indiana Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure in Indiana.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is mandatory.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (to be obtained within 6 months of employment).

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Acute Care is preferred.

Completion of an ASHP accredited residency is desirable.

Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or other advanced credentials are preferred.
