Role Summary:
Our operations team is on the lookout for a Senior Buyer. This role is crucial and involves delivering results-oriented leadership in Procurement, Vendor Management, and Inventory Control.
This hands-on position is set in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Daily tasks will encompass Reporting, Material Procurement, Inventory Oversight, Vendor Relationship Management, and implementing Lean Practices to enhance supply chain efficiency throughout the production process.
Key Performance Indicators:
Success in this role will be measured by metrics such as Days In Inventory (DII), Annual Inventory Turnover, Product On-Time Delivery (OTD), Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and Vendor Performance.

Responsibilities:
The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing material needs to ensure a seamless supply of materials and services for designated commodity/part families, utilizing MRP, pull indicators, and new product introduction plans.
- Building and managing effective relationships with current and prospective suppliers to achieve established cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Negotiating pricing and delivery terms with suppliers to reduce material costs, inventory levels, and transportation expenses while supporting production demands.
- Overseeing the procurement of assigned components, including order placement, expediting, and resolving discrepancies.
- Creating and maintaining reports to monitor inventory levels and support production timelines.
- Addressing material shortages and planning work order delays through direct collaboration with production teams and suppliers.
- Enhancing lean inventory management techniques, point-of-use stocking, and just-in-time manufacturing planning for customer orders.
- Collaborating with site management to establish workflows, including release dates, production schedules, and rework for production job orders.
- Maintaining accurate records of Finished Goods, Work-In-Progress, and Material Resource Planning.
- Providing assistance to the stockroom and other production areas as required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain within a Lean manufacturing environment; 10+ years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- At least 3 years of experience with an ERP/MRP system.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- International procurement experience is a plus.
- CPIM or APICS certification is advantageous.
- Strong communication and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift weights between 30 to 50 lbs.
