General Practice Dentistry Educator

The General Practice Dentistry Preceptor is a key member of our team at The Lake Erie College Of Osteopathic Medicine, responsible for providing high-quality training to students in diagnosis, treatment planning, and actual treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Advise students on specialty consultations in dentistry, ensuring they receive comprehensive guidance and support.
- Follow established protocols and guidelines, including LECOM SDM Standardization and clinic manual, to maintain the highest standards of patient care.
- Supervise dental students in the LECOM Dental Group Practices, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Instruct students on patient data interpretation and assessment, helping them develop essential skills for effective patient care.
- Provide basic clinical training in various disciplines of general dentistry, equipping students with the knowledge and expertise needed to succeed in their careers.
- Attend approved meetings for professional advancement, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in the field.
- Manage a patient practice area, ensuring efficient and effective patient flow while maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with faculty and students to maintain patient flow, promoting a seamless and cohesive learning experience.
- Receive assignments from management personnel, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Contribute to student success, institutional fundraising, and community involvement, embodying the values and mission of The Lake Erie College Of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Participate in scholarly activities, engaging in ongoing professional development and contributing to the advancement of dental education.
- Computer experience in dental or related field, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
- Patient relations and scheduling knowledge, ensuring seamless patient interactions and efficient practice management.
- ADA Coding knowledge, with a strong understanding of coding principles and regulations.
- Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Patient privacy regulations understanding, ensuring confidentiality and respect for patient information.
- OSHA and safety guidelines adherence, prioritizing patient and staff safety.
- Strong communication and computer skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
