Our client is in search of a Production Supervisor to oversee the Shredder operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth production processes and reports directly to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate will manage personnel across various shifts, focusing on production efficiency, quality assurance, and maintenance oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Guide and mentor department staff across multiple shifts, assigning tasks to optimize production output while minimizing overtime.
- Safety Compliance: Uphold a secure working environment by adhering to corporate safety standards, OSHA regulations, and other relevant guidelines. Facilitate employee training on safety protocols.
- Maintenance Oversight: Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to identify and address repair and maintenance requirements. Assess necessary components and lead times to ensure effective equipment operation.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and sustain a quality control system to guarantee that finished products meet both internal benchmarks and customer expectations.
- Production Analysis: Generate and review daily production reports to enhance throughput, reduce expenses, and boost profitability.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: 5-10 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with 2-5 years in a supervisory role. A strong mechanical understanding and familiarity with manufacturing processes are essential. A background in maintenance is advantageous.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Experience with continuous improvement strategies and managing production metrics is preferred.
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead and manage a team, delegating daily responsibilities to equipment operators, pickers, and cleaning staff.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule necessary repairs and upgrades.
- Oversee the processing and storage of finished products, ensuring effective quality control measures are in place.
- Monitor and report on production metrics to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
