Job Summary

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Manager to oversee the management of digital identities and access controls. This role involves coordinating the creation and maintenance of University IDs, managing IAM infrastructure, and ensuring secure and efficient access to information systems and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of University IDs for faculty, staff, and students
  • Manage IAM infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient access to information systems and resources
  • Partner with various UCSF departments to implement best practices and leverage technologies for identity lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with Security Operations to address security incidents related to identity and access
  • Monitor, detect, and safeguard the security of data, systems, and networks
  • Provide direct supervision to professionals or skilled technical employees
  • Act as an advisor, evaluating and resolving problems, interpreting policies, and demonstrating subject matter expertise
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5-7+ years' experience working in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, management, higher education, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years' experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in an Identity and Access Management fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Troubleshooting skills and practical experience in resolving issues related to identity infrastructures and IGA solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of IGA solutions and advanced identity infrastructures, including hands-on experience with technologies such as SailPoint, Bravura ID, or similar platforms
  • Strong knowledge of directory services, Single Sign-On technologies, multi-factor authentication solutions, role-based access control, identity governance and administration, and privileged access management
  • Understanding of privacy and security regulations and best practices, including federal and state laws, policies, and standards, as well as extensive knowledge about a wide range of privacy/security regulations relevant to higher education and/or medical center and patient information
  • Experience developing and executing IAM strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives
  • Interpersonal skills in order to communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in an organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical topics to individuals and groups with potentially varied levels of technical sophistication
