Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Information Systems Officer to lead our technology strategy and drive digital transformation at Sequoia Living. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive technology vision that aligns with our business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a technology strategy that supports business growth and innovation
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and support of all technology-related needs, including projects related to selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major applications and information systems
  • Manage teams that evaluate, select, implement, and maintain information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems
  • Promote a culture of information security, privacy, innovation, and digital transformation
  • Establish and maintain the deployment of standards spanning both applications and infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures aimed at maximizing effectiveness and minimizing costs
  • Continuously drive the advancement of technology as a business solution
  • Identify organizational and customer needs, develop and translate into action plans
  • Partner with key internal customers to foster and advance business-driven technology
  • Enhance the development of technical skills of all employees and drive continual progression towards self-service in the use of applications
  • Develop and enforce procedures to ensure the protection of Sequoia Living IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by Sequoia Living
  • Ensure technical infrastructure is safe, secure, and operating optimally
  • Develop, recommend, coordinate, and implement new or revised procedures and programs to ensure the continued effectiveness of enterprise-wide software applications
  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems, including staffing, sourcing, and purchasing
  • Collect, extract, and analyze data for information reporting to provide insight into key metrics for operational and financial performance monitoring
  • Stay current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies relevant to Sequoia Living
  • Advocate Sequoia Living IT vision and advise and educate management on these aspects
  • Develop the technology vision and planning process that will regularly evaluate existing technology, information systems, and staffing, research new solutions and technologies, and recommend changes
  • Reviews all hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and involves other management team members as appropriate
  • Develop and monitor annual operating and capital budgets for information technology and systems
  • Interviews, hires, supervises, trains, motivates, and provides performance management of staff
  • Ensures all information systems and networks operate according to internal standards, external accreditation standards, regulatory, and legal requirements, including HIPAA
  • Serves as the HIPAA Security Officer
Requirements
  • Fifteen or more years of progressive IT management experience with working knowledge of technology standards, business applications, technology platforms, and user support
  • Ability to lead and consult with cross-functional teams for software deployments, upgrades, and integration
  • Ability to plan and structure projects and coordinate and engage the necessary resources to deliver effective IT systems
  • Foresight and ability to anticipate business needs
  • Strong project management, organization, and analytical skills
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with vendors, management, and staff from all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain a harmonious work environment
  • Understanding of business relationships and confidentiality principles and adherence to those principles
  • Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in computer science and management information systems, Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum ten (10) years progressive experience leading IT operations, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Proven expertise in implementing, updating, and upgrading applications is essential
  • Prior experience leading the technology function across multiple locations highly preferred
  • Valid Current California driver license, proof of insurance, clean driving record, and ability to travel to multiple locations on a regular basis
