Position Summary

This entry-level role in the banking sector focuses on developing skills in transaction processing, sales, and customer service. The individual will function as a versatile team member capable of executing transactions, delivering exceptional service, and providing consultative advice to enhance the sales potential of each customer interaction. The role involves accurately and efficiently processing transactions while simultaneously introducing relevant products, services, and digital solutions that cater to customer needs, encouraging them to deepen their relationship with Synovus. The position also includes identifying customer requirements and opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling. The goal is to foster and maintain customer relationships, contributing to the branch's financial growth. The individual will act as the first line of defense against fraud and risk management. A commitment to customer satisfaction is essential, as is adherence to the Customer Covenant on a daily basis. Typically, the role entails spending around 80% of the time on transactional and service tasks and 20% on sales and relationship-building activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warmly greets customers to create a welcoming environment and build rapport, ensuring outstanding, personalized service. Takes the lead in the lobby, greeting customers as they enter the branch.
  • Evaluates customer needs, shares insights on digital strategies, and directs them to the appropriate service areas or banking representatives.
  • Handles a variety of customer transactions in line with established policies and procedures, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency while maximizing sales opportunities. Addresses customer inquiries and resolves issues professionally. Expresses gratitude to each customer for their business, treating everyone as a valued client.
  • Manages cash, checks, and deposits, ensuring accuracy in all transactions. Balances cash drawers at the end of the day and reports any discrepancies.
  • Listens attentively to customers to understand their financial priorities and promotes relevant bank products and services accordingly.
  • Enhances customer relationships by referring them to branch team members and/or Synovus partners for additional services. Engages in proactive outreach during sales campaigns.
  • Participates in daily team meetings, weekly sales discussions, and training sessions. Supports sales initiatives and shares product information and sales strategies.
  • Complies with Branch Operations Standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines to mitigate risk. Maintains vigilance to recognize and report potential fraud.
  • Exhibits professionalism in appearance, punctuality, and conduct. Keeps the workspace organized and tidy.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risks within their area of responsibility, including adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
