Position Overview:
The ideal candidate for the Shop Foreman role will possess outstanding manufacturing expertise, alongside practical knowledge and experience with various CNC machinery and controls. This position requires the ability to interpret customer job travelers and work orders, as well as mechanical blueprints. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and implementing computer control programs for machining centers, selecting and inspecting appropriate tooling, and operating computer-controlled machining centers within a safe and productive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with shop personnel and department heads to organize workflow across all shifts.
- Work with team members to enhance efficiency while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Lead efforts to achieve and surpass production targets.
- Develop and enforce training programs, production policies, and procedures.
- Utilize gaging and inspection tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Manage compliance with company certification and ISO registration requirements.
- Oversee the presetting process to maximize equipment utilization.
- Monitor workloads and schedules to guarantee timely deliveries while upholding quality standards.
- Engage daily with the company ERP system.
- Identify training, machinery, tooling, and process requirements for the department.
- Track departmental expenses and budgets effectively.
- Plan sequences and review time standards for part routings.
- Support and implement management-directed lean process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records to meet customer requirements.
- Meet departmental and personal goals for productivity and quality, striving for continuous improvement.
- Report any machine or process issues to management or maintenance personnel.
- Handle multiple tasks and manage various projects simultaneously.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols established by the company, including proper equipment usage and procedures.

Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Five to ten years of experience in the manufacturing sector, with knowledge of speeds and feeds, along with two years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Familiarity with MS applications.
- Strong mathematical skills and aptitude.

Work Environment:
A significant portion of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures can vary. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and coolant vapors. The company provides standard safety equipment, and specific notices are posted in areas where safety gear is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
Employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long-term disability, and a 401(k) plan with up to a 6% company match.
The compensation range for the Shop Foreman position for onsite applicants is $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Shift differentials may apply for certain shifts.
