Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Automation Engineering Technician to join our team at Schlage Lock Company LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation solutions using graphical software tools such as Creo and AutoCAD.
  • Support automation and robotic project activities, including panel build and vision system training.
  • Perform design engineering solutions for tooling, fixturing, and controls.
  • Support process improvements, quality issues, and new product launches.
  • Design equipment and tooling, quote equipment, present options, and implement solutions.
  • Follow up on internal build with maintenance, tool room, controls, and engineering support. Follow up with vendors as needed.
  • Implement and support operations from off-line testing to release to production.
  • Access to 3D printed prototypes to serve as proof-of-concept for fixture designs.
  • Document electrical and mechanical in AutoCAD to support automation initiatives.
  • Create and update standard work, including cell and line balancing activities.
  • Perform additional assignments to support process engineering projects.
Requirements
  • Degree or pursuing a degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as engineering, engineering technology, automation, or CAD design.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative from work experience or school projects.
  • Trained in 3D CAD modeling using CREO or similar for mechanical designs.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for electrical prints or layouts.
  • Mechanical and analytical skills to conceptualize 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Attention to detail and a customer-oriented attitude toward changes.
  • Effective listening, time management, and creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience or interest in an industrial environment working with skilled trades.
  • Desire to learn and grow by working on projects that will impact Allegion's business and customers.
