Job Summary

The Town of South Boston is seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Finance Manager to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for all Town staff and board members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records for the South Boston IDA Board, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Process invoices, check requests, and other financial transactions, ensuring proper coding and budget allocations.
  • Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for review by the Finance Director and IDA Board.
  • Oversee Finance staff in day-to-day operations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED, proficient in financial reporting, financial planning, payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
