Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations within the Inventory Management division.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Follow directives provided by the supervisor.
  2. Retrieve merchandise from storage areas, including racks, pallets, and bins.
  3. Accurately select and count items for customer orders, ensuring the correct quantities and types are prepared for dispatch.
  4. Maintain organization of stock and oversee inventory levels.
  5. Optimize warehouse layout for efficient space utilization.
  6. Repackage and reorganize products in storage and picking locations.
  7. Inspect pallets and items for any defects or damages.
  8. Adhere to established protocols for receiving, replenishing, and storing inventory.
  9. Assist in unloading and staging incoming shipments.
  10. Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and in accordance with safety standards.
  11. Review incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy.
  12. Receive, unload, and appropriately store incoming inventory items.
  13. Support the retail department by managing logs and adapting to departmental needs.
  14. Propose enhancements to improve warehouse processes.
  15. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Compensation: $20.00/hr - $21.00/hr

Work Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM

Qualifications:

Mandatory Skills:

  1. Proven experience in warehouse operations.
  2. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and utilize a calculator.
  3. Demonstrated eagerness to learn and enhance skills.
  4. High energy level and motivation to collaborate with warehouse teams.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse personalities.
  6. Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  7. Willingness to work extended hours or overtime as required.
  8. Compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.
  9. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  10. Capability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery.
  11. Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the work area at the end of each shift.
  12. Assist in upholding the sanitation, security, and safety standards of the warehouse.

Preferred Skills:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; one year of relevant experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
  2. Organized mindset with a keen attention to detail, capable of producing accurate results and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  4. Proven time management skills with the capacity to address urgent issues and work overtime as necessary.
  5. Excellent work ethic; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Professional demeanor and ability to represent the company positively.
  7. Adaptability to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Proficiency in reading and writing English, and following verbal instructions.
  9. Comfortable using computers and software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  10. Experience with RF scanning devices is a plus.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a warehouse setting with the following conditions:

  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Indoor work environment.
  • Temperature variations based on external weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Visual acuity to read product labels and reports, and to operate a computer.
  2. Able to hear and communicate effectively in person and via technology.
  3. Capability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  4. Ability to walk independently to perform job functions.
  5. Mobility to operate warehouse machinery.
  6. Ability to sit for extended periods as required.
  7. Capacity to stoop or kneel as necessary.
  8. Ability to lift items weighing between 30 lbs and 50 lbs.
  9. Hand dexterity to open and seal packaging, use a keyboard, and operate phone systems.
