Job Title: Instrument Control Specialist

At Onward Energy, we are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our combined-cycle power plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform instrument, control, and electrical maintenance functions to ensure safe and compliant operation of the power plant.
  • Provide technical and analytical services to support the control systems and associated equipment.
  • Collaborate with the system ownership team to prioritize and monitor system health indicators, optimize system performance, and develop maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in training and retraining programs to stay up-to-date with industry developments and company procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • Two-year technical degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in power plant and/or industrial electrical, instrumentation, or electronics.
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Various PLC Controllers, CEMS controls, and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret electrical and control drawings and P&ID's.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's license with an acceptable MVR history, if applicable.

Work Environment:

The power plant is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with moderate to high noise levels and occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. The successful candidate will be required to work in all weather conditions, including rain and snow, and will be expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
