Career Coach Opportunity at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School

We are seeking a skilled Career Coach to join our team at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School. As a Career Coach, you will work closely with our career training program leaders and students to help them achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group coaching to students to assist them in their career and academic exploration.
  • Identify barriers to learning or achieving career goals and coordinate with internal teams to ensure students can access the right support.
  • Coach students through the job search process, including helping them apply for jobs, complete job applications, and collect background information.
  • Facilitate workshops on job readiness, resume and cover letter writing, job interviewing, and other soft skills training as needed.
  • Develop smart plans and resumes for each student in partnership with the student.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable in Department of Labor regulations, industry-related information, and job market trends.
  • Collaborate with the Student Services Department to exchange relevant information on students, such as employment, post-secondary, or behavioral concerns.
  • Coordinate the post-secondary education enrollment process with the Student Services Student Success Team.
  • Maintain and update career training and occupation data.
  • Provide support on initiatives and projects for students as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or Amharic/English preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience as a coach, recruiter, or employment specialist.
  • Digital literacy skills.
  • High understanding of G-suite and program management databases.
  • Well-versed in digital research tools and diverse position-related software (Zoom, Office 365).
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to work two evenings a week and be flexible with the work schedule based on the needs of the career training programs.
  • Must be able to provide proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination.
