We are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented individual to become part of our team as a Healthcare Customer Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will take on various responsibilities related to patient onboarding, appointment management, and customer service interactions. This role also involves verifying insurance details, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring a high level of service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Register patients by confirming personal and insurance details.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and manage calendars effectively.
- Respond to incoming inquiries and route them to the correct department or personnel.
- Check insurance eligibility and coverage details.
- Collect co-payments and manage outstanding balances.
- Address patient complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy standards.
- Perform essential administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance billing is a plus.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
