ResponsibilitiesAs a Utility Locator, you will work with the SUE Department lead, Project Managers, and Analyst to provide subsurface utility engineering (SUE) activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting data on underground utilities using pipe and cable locators, ground penetrating radar, and vacuum excavation.
- Communicating effectively with team members through written and verbal communication.
- Ensuring SUE field health and safety compliance in conjunction with supervisors.
- Maintaining records, preparing reports, and preparing correspondence as needed.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of SUE or utility location experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Knowledge of ground penetrating radar, cable locating equipment, and vacuum excavation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
- The ability to coordinate and work in a team environment.
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Actively engage multiple perspectives when solving problems and encourage reciprocal learning among team members.
- Actively advocate for full inclusion in the workplace and foster an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and communities.
We prefer candidates with:
- DOT experience.
- Industrial site experience.
- Experience in land surveying.
This role requires:
- Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach.
- The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
You will work in an outdoor environment 90% of the time and may be exposed to moderate noise levels. You may also be required to travel up to 100% of the time.Benefits

You will also receive a 401(k) company match, vacation accrual separate from sick time, and 11 paid holidays in 2024 with the option to substitute 2 holidays for employees to celebrate other day(s) of significance. We also offer a six (6) day winter break in 2024 that is included in the paid holiday schedule.
