Responsibilities

As a Utility Locator, you will work with the SUE Department lead, Project Managers, and Analyst to provide subsurface utility engineering (SUE) activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting data on underground utilities using pipe and cable locators, ground penetrating radar, and vacuum excavation.
  • Communicating effectively with team members through written and verbal communication.
  • Ensuring SUE field health and safety compliance in conjunction with supervisors.
  • Maintaining records, preparing reports, and preparing correspondence as needed.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of SUE or utility location experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Knowledge of ground penetrating radar, cable locating equipment, and vacuum excavation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
  • The ability to coordinate and work in a team environment.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Actively engage multiple perspectives when solving problems and encourage reciprocal learning among team members.
  • Actively advocate for full inclusion in the workplace and foster an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and communities.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • DOT experience.
  • Industrial site experience.
  • Experience in land surveying.
Physical and Mental Demands

This role requires:

  • Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach.
  • The ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions

You will work in an outdoor environment 90% of the time and may be exposed to moderate noise levels. You may also be required to travel up to 100% of the time.Benefits

You will also receive a 401(k) company match, vacation accrual separate from sick time, and 11 paid holidays in 2024 with the option to substitute 2 holidays for employees to celebrate other day(s) of significance.
