Position Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled Desktop Engineer/Administrator to provide support for a critical IT Services program. This program is dedicated to delivering a variety of IT solutions, including help desk services, deskside assistance, Windows systems management, and cybersecurity measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Tier 3 desktop engineering support to ensure high-quality service.
- Manage incident tickets and service requests efficiently within established SLAs.
- Collaborate with the Customer Relationship Manager to prioritize and fulfill customer needs.
- Package and deploy software for Windows workstations in a secure environment.
- Participate in customer meetings as necessary to align on service delivery.
- Provide comprehensive documentation for workstation and application usage.
- Generate weekly reports detailing issues and project statuses.
- Troubleshoot and support Windows 10 workstations and associated software.
- Utilize Active Directory and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager to support a diverse customer base.
- Work with various teams to implement and maintain a robust workstation security strategy.
- Assist with regular and urgent patching of workstations, including security updates.
- Offer premium support to executive-level clients.
- Be available for extended hours or adjusted schedules for planned and emergency tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field, with 4-8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Windows-based support environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with System Center Configuration Manager and end-user workstation environments.
- Familiarity with Active Directory Group Policy as it applies to workstations.
- Knowledge of PIV and CAC authentication processes.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers at all levels.
- Capability to work independently to resolve issues while keeping management informed.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with workstation management systems such as SCCM or Intune.
- Government contracting experience, particularly within the Department of Justice.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management principles, especially with ServiceNow.
- In-depth understanding of the Windows 10 operating system.
