Job Title: Windows Server Administrator

Eliassen Group is seeking a highly skilled Windows Server Administrator to support a large government integrator in Washington D.C. This is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity with a Public Trust clearance sponsorship.

The successful candidate will work with a team of server engineers to troubleshoot issues for multiple systems in multiple datacenter locations. Key responsibilities include providing support, implementation, and design services for Windows-based systems across the enterprise, resolving and completing assigned tasks and change requests, and acting as an escalation for support issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and implementation services for Windows-based systems across the enterprise
  • Resolve and complete assigned tasks and change requests
  • Act as an escalation for support issues
  • Collaborate with team members to research and apply new solutions
  • Advise on course of actions for new application initiatives

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Windows OS, including W2K12R2, W2K16, W2K19, and W2K22
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in Hyper-V and VMware
  • Experience using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • Experience with Dell Open Manage Enterprise and iDRAC
  • Expertise with PowerShell and command-line scripting
  • Experience performing dual-stack and IPv6-only testing of Windows Servers and other Windows-based systems
  • Experience performing dual-stack implementation of IPv4 and IPv6
  • Expert knowledge and troubleshooting skills to resolve failed update installation in Windows OS
  • Experience with hardware and software purchases
  • Experience managing environments of 2000+ servers across multiple field site locations
  • Experience with Microsoft BitLocker and data-at-rest encryption requirements
  • Knowledge of AD Group policy and applying security posture via GPO's
  • Experience with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation
  • Ability to collaborate and perform in a team environment
  • Must be a self-starter with strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • AWS/Azure Cloud Certifications
  • VMware Certifications
  • Expert level knowledge and experience performing clustering
  • Experience leading troubleshooting calls spanning across multiple teams and using a multi-discipline approach
