This role is pivotal in overseeing HNE's prominent festivals, markets, and retail initiatives, collaborating with various teams to deliver an exceptional and inclusive experience for all attendees.
Classification: Full time; Exempt
Location: Eustis Estate, Milton, MA
Key Responsibilities:- Oversees the planning and execution of three major arts and crafts festivals and a weekly farmers market.
- Collaborates with marketing personnel to ensure effective outreach and promotion, while working alongside site staff to integrate events seamlessly into overall operations.
- Aims to achieve set revenue and attendance targets.
- Manages the ordering, display, and inventory control of merchandise for HNE museum shops.
- Handles all aspects of merchandise transfers, pricing adjustments, new item entries, and reporting.
- Acts as the primary user for point-of-sale software (Tessitura CRM).
- Generates monthly sales reports and coordinates year-end inventory assessments for financial auditing.
- Partners with site staff to develop and implement innovative programs that align with Historic New England's goals for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Experience in executing large-scale and intricate programs or events.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with the capability to learn and troubleshoot complex retail or customer service software.
- Willingness to work intensively during festival and market weekends, as well as other weekends throughout the year.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Commitment to professionalism, excellence, and diversity.
- Strong alignment with Historic New England's mission and values.
- Experience in retail management.
