GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: This role involves providing assistance in the instruction and oversight of students through individualized and group educational activities, monitoring during recreational periods, and supporting the evaluation of student progress.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Familiarity with the diverse needs of students across various age groups and developmental stages.
Understanding of district educational policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Awareness of federal and state educational laws and regulations.
Proficiency in educational methodologies and instructional techniques.

Ability to assess and identify students' educational requirements.
Competence in providing academic support in multiple subject areas.
Proficiency in using office equipment and educational software.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to translate and interpret educational materials.
Skill in building and maintaining positive working relationships with students and staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree, 60 college credits, and one (1) year of experience in childcare, or a combination of education and experience that meets the Highly Qualified standards as per No Child Left Behind. Bilingual candidates are preferred. Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
  • Provides individualized support to students in classroom settings or developmental centers to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Facilitates small group instruction to enhance understanding of educational content.
  • Monitors student activities outside the classroom during lunch, recess, or before and after school.
  • Translates educational materials and information for parents, students, and staff.
  • Administers assessments and maintains records under the guidance of the supervising teacher.
  • Organizes and maintains educational files and computer records.
  • Assists the supervising instructor with tasks specific to the instructional area.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
