We are seeking a highly skilled Correctional Mental Health specialist to join our team at CoreCivic in Laredo, Texas.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and providing clinical mental health services of a non-medical nature in the facility.

This includes conducting mental health screenings and assessments, developing individual treatment plans, and documenting treatment activities.

Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques is essential for this role.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with 5 years of clinical experience and certification or licensing in their state.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans
  • Document treatment activities in the healthcare record
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials
  • Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • 5 years of clinical experience, including 2 years in a comparable job position
  • Certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs
  • A valid driver's license (preferred)
